Just before ripping out the highlighted piece; I wanted to make this curve work more often. The small marbles would often get lodged there.

Wanted to officially end the spiral by adding a long straight stick. Wondered if it would look cool to have an arc on the inside of the spiral.

I wanted to use toothpicks to support the small marbles above and also to guide the large marbles below. Only trick was no room to make the support come up from the bottom to hold the inner toothpick. So I made a 270 degree loop around this bit to hold the inner toothpick. Glue is curing in these two pics.

Added some length to the curve of toothpicks, with the goal of minimal bracing. Also added a large ice cream spoon to the inner arc.

Adding lots of toothpicks: a quick dogleg thing outside and below the big spiral, and officially stopped the zig zag tower of toothpicks by making the topmost zag not zig.

Have decided to finish the small ball tracks at the top of the zag extension. Have curved the toothpick curve around to that point, and basically got the vertical curve outside the spiral to go close to there as well.
