This whale would bow to the viewers. I'm certain s/he could see us just fine and would actually mimic the bow motion that's so common in Japan. This provided huge entertainment for the girls outside the tank for about 2 minutes. Then they moved on to see the rest of the exhibits.

I was just like, oh god it's so tragic; this beautiful intelligent animal and its two counterparts are in this small ass tank with nothing to do but swim around, bow to people and grab a rope attached to floats.

No place to run, no place to hide.
